Social Media Post #1

We’re honored to support Chris Barbin as he attempts a world-first solo, 1,500+ mile row from Monterey, CA to Punta Mita, Mexico.

This journey is personal for Chris. For decades, mental health and addiction impacted the men in his family, including his Dad, his brother, and his son, Will. Walking alongside Will through his recovery changed Chris.

Too often, men suffer in silence. They’ve been conditioned to push through, stay strong, and keep it to themselves instead of speaking up. And the conversations we avoid can cost us the people we love most.

This row is about that.

It’s about shining a light on men’s mental health.
It’s about reminding fathers, sons, brothers, and friends that real strength isn’t grinding harder; it’s about being present.
It’s about choosing authentic connection over isolation.
It’s about having the courage to ask for help when you need it.

We’re proud to align with a mission that’s redefining strength, reducing stigma, and expanding access to organizations supporting mental health and addiction recovery.

[INSERT PERSONAL STORY OF MENTAL HEALTH/ADDICTION RECOVERY, OR CONNECTION TO CHRIS]

This spring, Chris Barbin will attempt a solo ocean row of more than 1,500 miles from Monterey, California to Punta Mita, Mexico. Over 5 weeks, he’ll row day and night in pursuit of something greater than a finish line.

Chris is rowing to raise awareness and funds for men’s mental health and addiction recovery, two causes that have deeply impacted his own family and many close friends. After years of supporting his family through their own journeys, Chris felt a pull to do something that would invite more open, honest conversations among men, while also helping two organizations make a tangible, life-saving impact: Project Healthy Minds and Providence Farm [Tag Organizations]

We’re proud to support Chris, his mission, and his goal of raising $1M for organizations supporting mental health and addiction recovery.

Subject: Why We’re Supporting Chris’s 1,500-Mile Ocean Row

Preview: A solo ocean row from Monterey to Punta Mita to spark conversations that matter.

Hi [First Name],

We’re proud to share a mission that means a lot to us.

[INSERT 2–3 SENTENCES HERE ABOUT YOUR CONNECTION TO CHRIS + WHY YOU’RE SUPPORTING HIM.]

This April, Chris Barbin will attempt a solo ocean row of more than 1,500 miles from Monterey, CA to Punta Mita, Mexico while raising funds and awareness for men’s mental health and addiction recovery.

Chris’s mission goes far beyond the miles he’ll row.

For decades, mental health and addiction have impacted the men in his family, including his dad, his brother, and most recently, his son, Will. Like many dads, Chris believed his role was to provide, to protect, to stay strong. But strength without presence has blind spots.

While Chris was busy building and leading, he missed signs on the depth of his sons’ struggles.

Will’s path eventually led him to Providence Farm, a recovery community that became a turning point for both of them. Walking alongside his son through recovery changed Chris. It reshaped how he thinks about strength, presence, and what it truly means to show up.

This row is about that.

It’s about shining a light on men’s mental health, choosing connection over silence, and reminding fathers, sons, brothers, and friends that real strength is not grinding harder… It’s about having the courage to speak up and ask for help.

Through this expedition, Chris aims to raise $1,000,000 to support two organizations doing life-saving work:

  • Project Healthy Minds — expanding access to mental health resources
  • Providence Farm — a recovery community where his son began his healing journey

Here’s how you can be part of it:

  1. Donate to support the campaign – cbrows.com
  2. Follow the journey and share
  3. Help us spark more open conversations around men’s mental health
